Karina Dresses for Every Occasion
Disclosure: I received this dress at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
Throughout the past year and a half, I've shared a number of fashionable Karina Dresses with you and it's been wonderful collaborating with Karina and her entire staff. As the year comes to a close and we all move on to a new year, I'd like to give you a glimpse at my absolute favorite Karina Dress - the long sleeve Megan in brown with cream dots. It's my favorite because the dress design is so professional, yet the tiny polka dots give it a playful flair. It is the perfect dress for any occasion!Karina Dresses are so comfortable to wear because the material moves with me and feels good against my skin. It's never too tight, never pinches anywhere, and never wrinkles. Plus, not a single Karina Dress of mine has ever faded! Best of all, they are so easy care for - just toss in the washer and then hang to dry. Whenever I travel, I always take along several of my Karina Dresses since they are perfect for any occasion. I can dress them up with heels or boots, or dress them down with sandals or flats. I look great and feel great in Karina Dresses.

Bacon French Toast Casserole Recipe
by Lisa Weidknecht
Ingredients list:
6 slices of bacon
10 slices of sandwich bread
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar, plus 2 more tablespoons sugar for topping
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter, soft
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Lay 6 pieces of bacon on a cookie sheet and bake in 350 degrees F oven (do not preheat) for 15 minutes. Remove bacon from oven (leave oven on) and transfer to paper-towel covered plate to cool and drain fat. Cut 10 slices of sandwich bread (I used white bread) into bite-sized pieces. Spray cooking oil in a 9"x13" casserole dish, then dump bread pieces into the casserole dish. Break bacon into small pieces and scatter on top of bread pieces. In a large bowl, beat 4 eggs with 1 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon softened butter. Pour over bread and bacon. For the topping, mix 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over the casserole. Place casserole dish in a 350 degrees F oven for 45 minutes. Serve warm with maple syrup. Feeds 4-6. I actually made this for our dinner, but it would be great for breakfast or lunch too!Print this recipe HERE.

Blueberry Syrup and Pancake #Recipe
I cannot even remember if I've ever eaten a blueberry syrup that actually has real blueberries in it. This all-natural Blueberry Syrup from The Blueberry Store is loaded with blueberries, one of my favorite fruits! Even better, there are only 3 ingredients: blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. There are no crazy preservatives that I can't pronounce. We made pancakes on Christmas morning and it was a great opportunity to try out this blueberry syrup. It's absolutely delicious and it's the perfect consistency. I daresay it's the best syrup I've tasted in my entire life and my family loves it. I can't wait to try it on waffles and even ice cream.
The Blueberry Store in South Haven, Michigan, specializes in everything blueberry you could ever want, including fresh and frozen Michigan blueberries, dried blueberries, blueberry coffee, blueberry juices, blueberry gift baskets, chocolate-covered blueberries, and even blueberry bushes that you can have delivered to your front door. Their website also has bushels of great blueberry recipes for you. After you order your blueberry syrup, you can print out my Golden Pancakes recipe below!
Combine the dry ingredients. Add the oil and milk. Stir until smooth. Add 2 eggs beaten. Pour batter into circles in a hot skillet and cook until the edges are firm and batter is bubbling up, then flip to cook the other side. Serve with blueberry syrup!

The Versatility of Sarong Fashions
#sponsored
Sarongs make great additions to any wardrobe. As staples of southeast Asian fashion, they're more versatile than you might think. You can click here for a broad selection of sarongs to get an idea of what's on the market. The following are three of the best places to get mileage out of a sarong along with recommendations for what colors will best complement the scenario. The first place people think of for sarongs is the beach. Sarongs are great when worn over bathing suits for an added degree of modesty and protection from the sun. They can make it easier to move from indoors to outdoors without needing to change entirely. This is a great benefit if you're planning a long day out and don't want to need to find a dressing room just for going to or getting away from the beach. Sarongs for the beach are best when bright. You can get away with being daring if you're planning a day in the sun. Go for a loud floral pattern or even tie-dye; you might be surprised what will flatter you!
The last place people think of for sarongs is usually the formal event. Sarongs aren't commonly thought of as fancy. The truth is that they're not inherently casual garments. It's all a matter of how you wear it and what color you wear it in. For formal events you'll want to go with a sarong in a darker, more sedate color. Navy and forest green make great options for this. The next key is to accessorize. A brooch or other pin can go a long way to set your sarong off in a great way. So can the judicious addition of a necklace.
Finally, sarongs make a great option for casual wear at home. While they can be great for making appearances, they can also be worn for comfort. Wearing a sarong at home with a looser knot is a great way to keep just the right temperature in summer when you don't want to turn the AC on. Wearing your sarong at home naturally means any color will work!
Sarongs are versatile garments. They can function as multiple styles of dresses, skirts and more. Don't underestimate how far a sarong can go to transform your wardrobe. A few sarongs of different colors can multiply your options by more than you might think, and they're easy to find online.

There are four fabulously fun DigiPals to choose from - Owl, Turtle, Penguin or Monkey. They'll make your smart phone cute and cuddly, plus the soft microfiber cloth inside actually cleans the screen of dirt and fingerprints, while protecting it from scratches. Each DigiPal is constructed with two zipper pockets, one for your phone or music player and the other is great for ear buds, cash, id card, or other small treasures. They are wonderfully made with great detail to stitching and you can choose the animal that best fits your personality. Even teenagers love DigiPals - just slide a phone into the side zipper (or top zipper) - then drop it in your backpack. They are not designed to protect against breakage, so don't try dropping your DigiPals with your phone inside.

Elm Baby Lemon Drop Eco Candle - Review
Disclosure: I received product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
Elm Baby has so many wonderful products for families, including many organic products. I recently received one of their Eco Candles in Lemon Drop and it smells absolutely amazing, even without being lit. Did you know that the smell of lemon helps to reduce nausea? Lemon is one of my favorite candle scents, but that's a benefit I wish I had known 23 years ago! Some of their other fragrances include cupcake, lavender lemon, baby's butt, chai latte, and spa day. They even offer MANdles for men! These soy wax candles have no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants. Plus it burns for 30-50% longer than a petroleum-based paraffin candle. The combination of lemon blossoms, bergamot, violet, lavender and sandalwood create a beautiful, sweet and powdery lemon scent. I've been burning my Eco Candle all week and it makes my house smell so clean (nice camouflage considering my kids are home from college). Each natural, biodegradable, renewable resource candle is hand-poured in Wisconsin USA. I highly recommend Eco Candles!
Check out all their fabulous soy candles at www.elmbaby.com and be sure to browse the website for maternity items, baby items, skin care, and even the dad's corner. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for information about special promotions. What's YOUR favorite candle scent?

Rugged and Romantic Handmade Inspirational Jewelry
If your jewelry stash doesn't include something from Island Cowgirl, then you're missing out on some truly unique pieces. This company creates beautifully rugged and truly romantic bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces and anklets. I received a bracelet called "Anchor Your Soul" and I simply adore it. It's 7 1/2" in length and the center charm is 2" in length. On the back of the anchor is the inscription "anchor your soul" which is a wonderful reminder to me and my faith. The lobster claw closure is my favorite kind because I never have to worry about losing a favorite piece of jewelry.
The casual look to this bracelet is one of my favorite styles. I wear mostly jeans, so I can wear this as an everyday piece, but I also love a casual dress on Sundays. Every piece from Island Cowgirl has a romantic inspirational quote on the back, inscribed before they dip the charm into sterling or 14k gold, using several age-old techniques such as lost wax casting. Even the knots on the wristband of the bracelet lend unique personality to this piece. It's quickly become one of my most favorite everyday pieces.
Visit www.islandcowgirl.com to find the jewelry that speaks to your heart and your soul. You can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

How to Keep Your Dog Safe During the Holidays
By Your Friends at Bil-Jac Dog Food
The holiday season is all about spending time with family and friends. As we get caught up in the hustle and bustle, decorating, and parties, it’s important to be sure we are keeping our pets safe through it all. Here are ten tips to consider to help keep your best friend safe during this special time of year:
1. Human Food is For Humans: If you don’t normally feed your dog table scraps, don’t start now. Many of the foods we eat around the holidays are high in fat, salt and sugar and can upset your dog’s stomach. Always keep your dog away from the following foods:
• Chocolate - Theobromine, a component of chocolate, is toxic to dogs and can cause vomiting, diarrhea and in some cases, death.
• Onions - Too much onion, no matter what kind, can cause anemia in dogs.
• Grapes & Raisins - Too many grapes or raisins may negatively affect your dogs' kidneys.
• Cooked Bones - Turkey and ham bones may be sharp and could pose a choking hazard to your best friend.
2. Light the Tree with Caution: Keep electrical cords tucked away and ornaments out of paw’s reach. If your pup gets curious and decides to chew on a wire, she could get shocked and even electrocuted. Ornaments, as we all know, tend to easily break very easily and can cut a pet's mouth or paws. If you are going out, consider unplugging lights or putting your dog in another room away from the temptation of cords and shiny decorations.
3. Go for the Faux: If your dog is more curious than most, you may want to use an artificial tree rather than a real one. Tree water may contain fertilizers. If your dogs drink it, they could experience nausea and diarrhea.
4. Plant It Up High: Certain holiday plants such as mistletoe, holly and poinsettias can cause vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular problems if ingested. Make sure all of these plants are up high or opt for artificial versions.
5. Stuff Wisely: We stuff our pet's stocking just like any other member of the family. Choose safe gifts such as dog-safe toys and treats they love to eat.
6. No Escaping: If you’re hosting a holiday party, consider keeping your dogs away from the front door when guests are coming and going. Especially if your dogs have the tendency to run out the door the first chance they get. Always make sure they're wearing their collar and dog tag just in case they do escape.
7. Give Them Peace and Quiet: Some dogs enjoy visitors, but others may get nervous and scared around new people. Set up a quiet, safe room with fresh water and a place to relax away from your guests.
8. Leave The Drinking to The Adults: If your guests are drinking alcohol, remind them to watch where they put their drinks, especially if your dog is curious. Just a few slurps of red wine can make your dog disoriented and potentially ill.
9. Don’t Be Gone Too Long: If you're like most of us, you attend holiday festivities throughout December. From company holiday parties, to get-togethers with friends and family, there could be times when your best friends are left alone a little longer than normal. A change in schedule like this may cause stress and nervousness. If possible, plan ahead for these types of events. If you have to go straight to a company holiday party after work, for example, see if a friend or neighbor would care for your dog during that time.
10. Ring in the New Year Responsibly: Noise makers can be very scary to pets and could cause damage to sensitive ears. Remember dogs hear at much different frequencies than humans and high pitched sounds can be uncomfortable and painful for your best friend. Skip the noisemakers and instead enjoy bringing in the New Year with your best friend by your side!
