Having my adult kids here for Christmas vacation means lots of fun
family games. Pointing Fingers is a hilarious game of "have you ever..." and "would you ever..." that comes complete with six big foam fingers for pointing at who you think is most likely to have done it or would do it.
There is some simple assembly of the little score cards and then it's time to start accusing people! The game is designed for 3-6 players and ages 12 and up. It's a great game for us to play with our kids (ages 19-23) because they are in the stage of life where we, as their parents, don't really know all that much about what crazy things they are doing away from home!
Everyone puts on a big foam finger and everyone gets their own stand-up score card with a "truth meter" and little finger pointer attached.
Pointing Fingers comes with a deck of question cards and the first player draws a card from the top of the pile and reads one of the three suggested options.
Some of the questions include: Have you ever liked about being able to do something really well? Would you ever wear matching sweaters with your dog? Have you ever faked an injury to get out of doing something? Would you ever quit your job to drive an ice cream truck? Have you ever bought something from an infomercial? There are also questions that are fill in the blank so you can personalize the game: Would you ever jump off a _______? Have you ever been caught reading ______?
As each question is read aloud, the players use the "truth meter" on their score card to secretly choose their answer: no never, once, sometimes, or yes always. When everyone has chosen their answer, all players then point their big foam finger at the person most likely to have admitted to it.
Starting with the person with the most fingers pointed at him, he reveals his answer and the number associated with their answer (0,1,2,3) is awarded to those pointing at that person, then on to the next person with a finger pointed at him. Each person keeps their score with the top wheel on their score card and the winner is the person who reaches 21 first. My husband won our first game.
For my silly family, the foam fingers were a hit. And yes, there were several pictures too inappropriate for me to post here. The game is a lot of fun and I love anything that brings all of us together for laughter and memories. It would be a fabulous
party game too, although you might want to grab two games to have 12 big foam fingers on hand (see what I did there?)! I can't wait to play it with my mom and three sisters!
