This week I'm traveling back in time eighteen years. This is a photo of my son Ryan when he was just a baby. I remember how nervous I felt when I found out he was a boy. I grew up with three sisters and had no clue what having a little boy would be like. But no worries, my on-the-job training went well and he taught me many things about raising boys. It's a bit hard to believe he graduates from high school this weekend!

VTech Techonology and Decor for Your Lifestyle

Design and decor are equally important and this new VTech phone system has both! The model name is the Two Handset Connect to CELL Answering System with Caller ID/Call Waiting, but I like to call it my Red VTech. This snazzy set can make and receive both landline calls and cellular calls, but only requires one phone jack. It also has push-to-talk, voice announce caller ID, HD Audio, and handset speakerphone. Plus it is expandable so it can use up to 12 handsets! Landline service is NOT required to use this phone so if you're a cell phone only family it's perfect for your house.
The digital answering system records 14 minutes of messages for those long-winded people who can't just leave a phone number for you. My Red VTech will display a large backlit message counter letting you know how many messages are waiting. Plus you can even download and store your cell phone directory in it, which has proven to come in handy several times over the past few weeks.
Each handset is lightweight but sturdy and the phone base can even be mounted on the wall. I prefer to keep mine on the counter because it fits right in with the decor of my home. HEB Toilet Paper VS. Charmin

I have used Charmin Ultra Strong toilet paper for years. HEB (a Texas-based grocery chain) is pretty good about making copycat products so I decided to "take the plunge" and try their new toilet paper that claims to be comparable to Charmin Ultra Strong. 
The packaging for HEB's Our Finest Ultra Strong is very similar to Charmin Ultra Strong. In the store, the biggest difference is the price. HEB sells Charmin for $9.97 and HEB Our Finest sells for $7.97 for the same 16 double roll package.
Since I still had some Charmin at home, I unrolled a bit of each roll and laid them side by side. The Charmin is on the left of the photo and the HEB Our Finest is on the right of the photo. You can see that they both offer the "quilted" look that supposedly helps to clean without falling apart.
Upon closer inspection, you can see the color of the countertop through the Charmin toilet paper more than you can see it through the HEB Our Finest. So I've concluded the HEB Our Finest is a little bit thicker. After everyone in my home used the HEB brand for a week, I polled everyone and no one even realized they were using the HEB Our Finest brand. I personally like the HEB Our Finest just as much as I like the Charmin.
Given that I'm going to save $2.00 per package, my family is switching to HEB Our Finest Toilet Paper. Well done, HEB!

IndieFlix presents Finding Kind - Review and Giveaway

In a small bowl, toss together some iceberg lettuce and spinach leaves.
Add cut red onion, grape tomatoes, cucumber chunks, and sliced black olives.
In another bowl, mix 1 can drained tuna with 2 tbsp mayo, 1 tbsp mustard,
1 tbsp dill pickle relish, plus a dash of salt and pepper.
Spoon tuna mixture over veggies and serve.
